Richard K. Payne

Richard K. Payne

I'm Richard K. Payne and I am very excited to be part of the Denali Law Group and to provide exceptional legal representation to Alaskans. I have been practicing law in Alaska for over 11 years, both as a civil litigation attorney and, most recently, as a Palmer Assistant District Attorney. I have prosecuted every conceivable type of criminal matter from double homicide, multiple murders, theft, assault, drug crimes, and DUIs. As a Prosecutor, I was very fortunate to make lasting friendships and to become familiar with the District Attorney's office personalities, policies and procedures as well as the Palmer Court System. What this means to you is, I know who I am dealing with, and I know what I am doing. My accountability, relationships and intimate knowledge of Alaskan Law are your greatest assets.

Jon Marc Petersen

Jon Marc Petersen

I'm Jon Marc Petersen, and as a former District Attorney in Palmer with a stellar track record in handling everything from DUI's to Homicide cases, I look forward to helping you receive the justice you deserve. Because of my passion as an attorney and fascination for law, I had a long-standing goal to start my own practice. After serving years in the District Attorney's office, I felt that partnering with Richard to form Denali Law Group came at the right and we began our private practice here in the Valley. I was at the District Attorney's office when I met Richard and, in hindsight,I cannot imagine creating this firm with anyone else. With my background in criminal defense, law enforcement, prosecution, insurance defense and personal injury, we can provide full service legal advice and representation to our clients. With our experience in Palmer and having both been involved with numerous jury trials in the Palmer Courts, we can bring that full range of experience to bear for our clients. My passion for law and tireless work ethic are a formidable arsenal protecting your rights. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to serve you.

Marisa Chud

Marisa Chud

I’m Marisa Chud, and I was born and raised here in the Mat-Su Valley. Right out law school I was privileged to serve as a clerk for a Superior Court judge in Palmer, where I was familiarized with the breadth of legal issues litigated here in the third judicial district. The experience took my natural childhood love for this part of Alaska and brought it to an actual understanding of the unique needs of our community. Currently, I handle both criminal and civil matters. I chose to pursue this career path because I am passionate about advocating for the marginalized and vulnerable. During my years in school, I wrote for New England Law's International Law Journal, with specific emphasis on the Middle East. This background, along with years of on-the-ground work in Beirut, Lebanon during the Syrian refugee crisis, has significantly shaped my worldview and my approach toward each of my clients.

While studying at Georgetown Law, I focused my experience on international litigation and foreign policy-related political advocacy by working for Robert Amsterdam and Gary Horlick. Upon graduating from law school, I moved to Alaska to be an Associate Attorney for Margaret Stock at the Cascadia Cross-Border Law Group. After acquiring extensive experience in immigration law, I decided to pursue my life-long dream of learning criminal defense and civil litigation by accepting an offer with the Denali Law Group. I am a naturalized U.S. Citizen who is originally from Ukraine. I am a native speaker of Russian, fluent in Ukrainian, and intermediate in French.
