Meet our attorneys below:
Richard K. Payne
I'm Richard K. Payne and I am very excited to be part of the Denali
Law Group and to provide exceptional legal representation to Alaskans.
I have been practicing law in Alaska for over 11 years, both as a civil
litigation attorney and, most recently, as a Palmer Assistant District
Attorney. I have prosecuted every conceivable type of criminal matter
from double homicide, multiple murders, theft, assault, drug crimes, and
DUIs. As a Prosecutor, I was very fortunate to make lasting friendships
and to become familiar with the District Attorney's office personalities,
policies and procedures as well as the Palmer Court System. What this
means to you is, I know who I am dealing with, and I know what I am doing.
My accountability, relationships and intimate knowledge of Alaskan Law
are your greatest assets.
Jon Marc Petersen
I'm Jon Marc Petersen, and as a former District Attorney in Palmer
with a stellar track record in handling everything from DUI's to Homicide
cases, I look forward to helping you receive the justice you deserve.
Because of my passion as an attorney and fascination for law, I had a
long-standing goal to start my own practice. After serving years in the
District Attorney's office, I felt that partnering with Richard to
form Denali Law Group came at the right and we began our private practice
here in the Valley. I was at the District Attorney's office when I
met Richard and, in hindsight, I cannot imagine creating this firm with
anyone else. With my background in criminal defense, law enforcement,
prosecution, insurance defense and personal injury, we can provide full
service legal advice and representation to our clients. With our experience
in Palmer and having both been involved with numerous jury trials in the
Palmer Courts, we can bring that full range of experience to bear for
our clients. My passion for law and tireless work ethic are a formidable
arsenal protecting your rights. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity
to serve you.
I'm Michael Logue and I have been practicing law in Alaska since 1988.
Prior to that, I was an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn, New York.
I have represented thousands of people on felony and misdemeanor cases,
including OUI, assault and other crimes. I have also tried well over a
hundred criminal cases across Alaska, having represented people from virtually
every corner of the state. I've been an instructor for attorneys on
OUI practice and procedure, lectured at the Anchorage Police training
academy and conducted trial training for officers for almost twenty years.
I also focus on cases involving defendants who are veterans, have mental
health issues, or are seeking therapeutic court alternatives to the regular
court process. I bring almost 30 years of experience in criminal law to
every client I represent and I am able to use this to the maximum benefit
of each and every case.
Roy Roistacher, Of Counsel
I am Roy Roistacher and have been an active attorney since 1986. I am licensed
to practice law in both Alaska and Washington State where I practiced
until moving to Wasilla in 2003. While in Washington, I maintained a solo
practice engaged almost exclusively in criminal defense. I was honored
to serve as a Judge Pro Tem in both the King County Courts and Seattle
Municipal Court. Being a small town lawyer engaged in a diversified practice
has been an amazing and rewarding experience. Service to my community
is one of my core values. I am also proud to serve as a Fire Lieutenant
in the Central Mat-Su Fire Department and when time permitted as a legal
advisor to the Mat-Su Youth Court.
I'm Justin Tapp and I have been licensed in Alaska since 2012 and in
Texas since 2010. Before going to law school, worked for the United States
House of Representatives in the second district of New Hampshire. In that
office, I helped people solve complicated immigration and naturalization
issues. However, I noticed that many of my cases had to be turned over
to attorneys to handle the legal side of things. Eventually I became so
frustrated at having to turn over my work to lawyers that I decided to
become one myself, and enrolled at Baylor University School of Law in
Waco, Texas. As a law student, I worked for a wide variety of organizations
involved in criminal law practice, including the Alaska Public Defender
Agency in Kenai, the McLennan County District Attorney's Office, the
U.S. Federal Court in Waco, Texas, and as an inmate liaison / paralegal
at the McLennan County Jail. Prior to becoming a lawyer, I obtained a
Bachelor's degree in French and a Master of Public Administration
degree, both from the University of North Texas.
I'm Max Holmquist and I look forward to the opportunity to assist our
clients in getting the best possible outcome for their cases. I was raised
in Anchorage and I returned to practice here in 2009. I was a law clerk
in Anchorage District Court, working closely with many of the judges I
now appear before every day. Since then I have maintained a very busy
criminal defense practice, primarily working on cases prosecuted by the
Municipality of Anchorage and the Anchorage District Attorney's Office.
I have handled a wide variety of misdemeanor and felony level offenses
and will work hard to get a good result for my clients, whether through
an agreement with the prosecutor or taking the case to a jury trial. I
look forward to the opportunity to help you.
I'm Mike Graper and I advocate for my clients to obtain the best result
they can. I have been licensed in Alaska since 2001. I was raised in Michigan,
but have spent time in Alaska, on and off, for the last 20 years. I graduated
with high honors from Michigan State University in 1998 with a Bachelor's
degree in Political Science. While at Michigan State, I also volunteered
my time as a landlord / tenant counselor. I graduated from the University
of Colorado School of Law in 2001. While in law school, I interned for
the City of Denver prosecutor's office and served as a Rothgerber
Teaching Fellow assisting first year students studying property law. I
was also member of a moot court team that won the best brief in the Saul
Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition (Trademark). My practice currently focuses
on criminal defense, including misdemeanors, felonies, DUI / OUI defense,
and assaults. I also handle a variety of civil matters including personal
injury, family, business / corporate, and real estate. I look forward
to assisting you in the future.
I am Alycia Cole. I moved to Alaska in early 2015 from Colorado. Prior
to joining Denali Law Group, I worked as an Associate Attorney where I
was exposed to a variety of cases including, business, family, property,
probate and water rights. I have also served as an Assistant County Attorney
where I prosecuted Dependency and Neglect cases. I was also privileged
to work as a criminal defense contractor for the New Mexico Public Defender's
Office. Through my legal practice and my time as a NCAA college athlete,
I am familiar with competition, hard work and commitment. I am passionate
about my client’s rights and protecting those rights and look forward
to ensuring that your legal needs are met with strength, compassion and
